David Nakazono, currently the 3rd Trumpet of the Wisconsin Philharmonic, is also a freelance trumpeter in the Chicagoland area. Additionally, he is the 2nd Trumpet of the Peoria Symphony and a Regular Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He is continuing his studies towards a Professional Diploma at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (MM Orchestral Studies ‘19) under Mark Ridenour and Esteban Batallán, Assistant Principal and Principal Trumpets of the Chicago Symphony, respectively. He has performed with orchestras including the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Illinois Symphony, and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, but he also performs in various chamber music groups and in a commercial capacity as a pit musician and member of the Connexion Band.
Beyond the concert hall, David also enjoys learning about technology and staying active.
During quarantine, he’s been riding his bike and working on ways to perform without a live audience through recordings and video performances!
